Extraction Challenge

Mark your calendars: September 5, 2025. This year at the Amherst Va County Fair, AFD will be hosting an extrication challenge in place of the firefighter competition held in the past.
The competition will be limited to 5 firefighter teams. Teams will stabilize a vehicle, remove glass, remove doors, remove the roof, and extricate the patient using the equipment provided. This will be a timed event.
The event is sponsored by Atlantic Emergency Solutions, Fire & Safety Equipment Co. Inc., and the Amherst Fire Department. Trophies and swag to participants.
Centra One is scheduled to be on hand for demonstration purposes.
