Competition Exhibit Tent
Amherst is full of talent, and it is on display at the Competition Exhibit Tent. Wander through the tent and enjoy a display of Amherst’s best in nine different categories! Enjoy artwork and photography. See how your gardening skills compare to your neighbors’ prized produce. And marvel at the baking skills of friends and family. Do you want to see if your family’s favorite jam recipe has what it takes to bring home the blue ribbon? Entry items and forms may be dropped off at the fairgrounds on Wednesday, September 3, from 4 – 6:30 pm and Thursday, September 4, from 12 pm – 3 pm. The cut-off time for entries to arrive at the fairgrounds for judging is 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 3.

Don’t forget to stop by the Amherst Extension Tent while you are at the fair. From STEM activities to arts and crafts, there are hands-on activities for everyone! Feeling competitive? See if you can stand the heat in the annual jalapeno-eating contest. Feeling nostalgic, try your hand at good old-fashioned favorites like tug of war, sack races, or donuts on a string. While you are there, check out the 4-H and Livestock Club exhibits to learn how you can participate. There is something for everyone at the Extension tent!
